The Tree of Life
When I was in England, I came across a huge oak tree. I immediately
felt that it symbolized the tree of life.
With its branches reaching into the sky,
and roots deep in the earth, it dwells in three worlds - a link
between heaven, the earth, and the underworld, uniting above and
below.

Standing Strong
When I visited the great and ancient
stone circle of Stonehenge, I was in awe of the massive stones that have
stood for at least 5000 years. To think that it was built with only
stones and animal bones as tools.

Silent Sentinels
It was a nearly cloudless day when I stood quietly and stared at
the incredible stone circle of Stonehenge, I imagined the standing
stones were great sentinels waiting for something amazing to occur.
They stood quietly watching the sun rise and fall. |

Secret Solitude
I came across this stone bench while
walking through a forest sanctuary. It was tucked under the
shielding arms of a tall tree. It was hidden away from prying eyes
and seemed the perfect place for a quiet sojourn.

Strength
This wall is composed of free standing stones. This
means that they are held in place by their size, shape, and weight
alone. What came to my mind was that it was a pure symbol of
strength of self. They were placed by man but held by themselves. |

Waiting
I saw this empty bench at the beginning of a long hike. I ignored
it and continued on. At the end of the day when I was returning, I came
upon the same empty bench. It was then that I knew that it was waiting
for me, without judgment, inviting me to rest. |

Chalk Horse
In
the countryside of southern England, I found this huge white horse
carved into the hillside. The steep hill is made of chalk which made
the horse carving stand out bright and bold for all to see. |

Rugged Pass
This stone bridge spans a deep gorge between two rock cliffs. To me it
signifies that a difficult hurdle can be overcome with the aid a strong
partner to share the burden. Alone it may not be possible. |

|
Tranquil
A stone bridge crosses a slow moving river. Water fowl move carefree
through the gentle current. Sitting on the bank you are quenched with a
feeling of tranquility. You are free from commotion or disturbance. |

The Green Man
The Green Man sits crossed legged, holding a limb of holly in one
hand and a limb of oak in the other, antlers adorn his head. He roams
the woodlands and represents the spirits of the trees, plants, and
foliage. The plants of spring are in his care and he protects them as
they sleep all winter long. |

Guardians
The ring of trees provide a protective grove. Within sits the three
stones forming a
symbolic monument to strengthen cooperation and solidarity of an ancient
Celtic tribe. |
