Faerie: See Elemental.

Faerie Burgh: Mound of earth which covers a faerie colony's underground home.

Faery: Alternative spelling for fairy, to distinguish it as a belief system.

Familiar: A spirit or guardian who is close to a human being and considered a companion in magic. The spirit often manifests itself in a sacred object or a pet. This explains the misconception that all witches have black cats, which is not necessarily true though a cat is a magical creature and often does become a familiar. Familiars offer help, companionship, protection, and usually unconditional love as well.

Fascination: The practice of controlling another's mind psychically. Can be considered very manipulative and by some traditions a breaking of the Rede, especially when used to frivolously control people. A mental effort to control another animal or person’s mind. It has been referred to as “mind-bending”.

Fate: The destined result of life after a sequence of fated events. Kismet, Karma, destiny are other names.

Feng Shui: [pronounced: foong shway or fung shway] Ancient Chinese art of orienting objects and towns to promote a healthy flow of chi. Its postulate is that all areas, large and small, have a distinctive energy that is guidable by rearranging objects (e.g., removing an ornament from an apartment, or adding one to a particular corner of a room). To be avoided is: clutter, dark corners, gloomy colors, low ceilings, and sharp, pointed objects. Feng Shui literally means "wind and water" and is translatable as "vital energy" or "geomancy".

Fetch: A male witch who acts as a messenger and general assistant to a coven's High Priestess and High Priest. Also called the Summoner. A spirit guide that exists as part of the soul, often seen by the mind's eye as an animal, a member of the opposite sex, or a geometrical shape; also "fetch-deer"

It rules the zodiacs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. Fire Walking: A ritual means of demonstrating an individual's possession of extraordinary powers by appearing unharmed after walking barefoot over a series of fires or across a bed of hot coals. Fire walking serves as a religious ordeal or test.

Five-fold Bond: A ritual tie that links wrists, neck and ankles. Flower Essences: A modality that uses extracts from flowering plants in homeopathic proportions as catalysts for healing. Each liquid preparation carries the imprint of a specific plant that speaks a subtle language that works on the root causes of disease.

Folklore: Traditional sayings, cures, faerie tales, and folk wisdom of a particular locale which is separate from their mythology. Folk magic: A culture's traditional magical practices.

Fortune telling: A form of divination in which a person attempts to predict the future using paranormal powers

Four Elements: Earth, air, fire and water. Usually invoked or used to purify space at the beginning of Wiccan rituals.
