 Historically a
grimoire is a book of collected writings of a
magical nature. They were personal notes,
experiences, and acquired knowledge of a mage.
The word "Grimoire"
is an archaic spelling of grammar. In the true
context, they are not books of black magic but a
collection of information of a mystical nature. They were known to be written between the
medieval period and the 18th century.

By the
Middle Ages, grammatica had come to mean the
knowledge or study of Latin, and that was
extended to mean learning in general because
Latin was the language of scholars. Since the
general populace didn't know Latin, all
learning was regarded as mysterious and was
popularly thought to include magic and astrology.
Our Grimoire of
Mystical Knowledge is a compendium of
information presented for your enjoyment.
Initially it will be arranged as a glossary of
mystical terms. As time goes on, it will contain
more and more information. Hopefully it will
become a type of mystical encyclopedia.
